“Good Burger 2” will be streaming on Paramount+ later this year.  The original came out in 1997.  It started as a sketch on the Nickelodeon show “All That”.

Coming into the Grammys last night, Beyoncé had won 28 Grammys in her career, good enough for SECOND on the all-time list.  She had nine nominations this year . . . so she was poised to potentially take over the #1 spot.

Sir Georg Solti had the most with 31.  He was a Hungarian-British conductor . . . and he passed away back in 1997, so his total is set.  She needed four to pass him.  And it happened.

Beyoncé won two awards early, which weren’t televised.  Then, early in the broadcast, her song “Cuff It” won Best R&B Song to enter a TIE for first place.

But she wasn’t anywhere to be found.  Host Trevor Noah announced that she WAS coming, but that she was currently “stuck in traffic.” 

He said, “The upside of hosting the Grammys in L.A. . . . is that everyone can be here.  The downside of hosting the Grammys in L.A. is the traffic.”  (And this was a Sunday afternoon!)

Later in the show, Beyoncé won Best Dance/Electronic Album for “Renaissance”, beating Solti’s record.  She WAS there then . . . and she was clearly thrilled when she went up to accept the award.  

She said, quote, “I’m trying not to be too emotional.  I’m trying to just receive this night.”  She got a standing ovation from the audience, including her husband Jay-Z, who she also thanked in her speech.

She also thanked her fans for “protecting” her . . . as well as “the queer community” for their love, and for “inventing the [Dance/Electronic] genre.”  (Here’s video.)

But Beyoncé could not nab the biggest award.  Harry Styles won Album of the Year for “Harry’s House”.  He gave a fairly subdued speech, where he said, “It’s important for us to remember that there is no such thing as ‘best’ in music.”

Here are a few other notable moments:

1.  There was a (very) long “in memoriam” tribute . . . but it was pretty well done.  It featured several mini-performances, including Quavo from Migos doing “Without You” to pay homage to Takeoff, who was shot and killed in November.

Also, Sheryl Crow teamed up with Mick Fleetwood and Bonnie Raitt to honor the late Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac, who also died in November.

Fans always freak out over those who were left out of the tributes; this year, the biggest omission might have been Aaron Carter.  Although, you could argue he wasn’t really in the Grammy ecosystem. 

Still, “People” magazine claims Aaron WAS listed in the physical copy of the Grammys program.

Some viewers thought the Grammys omitted Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters, but he actually made the Grammy’s tribute LAST YEAR.

2.  As promised the Grammys paid tribute to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop . . . and it was actually great.  It was part celebration, part mash-up, and part party.

In the end, LL Cool J shouted “multi-generational!,” after performances by DOZENS of artists, including Run-DMC, Rakim, Salt-N-Pepa, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Queen Latifah, GloRilla, and Ice-T.

3.  Some viewers were surprised when Bonnie Raitt won Song of the Year for “Just Like That” . . . even SHE was shocked.  If anyone else AT the Grammys was surprised, they rolled with it . . . but that isn’t always the case.

The Sore Loser of the Year goes to Chris Brown.  It didn’t happen during the broadcast, but he lost to Robert Glasper in the Best R&B Album category, and he responded by going on a social media rant, asking “Who the [eff] is Richard Glasper?”

Chris also said, “Ima keep kicking y’all [butt] respectfully.”  (???)  Chris is far from the most self-aware celebrity you’ll meet.

4.  There were a lot of good speeches . . . like Beyoncé, Lizzo, Adele, Samara Joy, even Sam Smith giving his moment to Kim Petras . . . but the WEIRDEST speech of the night was probably Madonna’s.  It was a little all over the place . . . and she didn’t even LOOK like Madonna.

Khalil Khan was called to a home to fix an electric dimmer switch.  When he got there, the “owner” told him he knew jiu-jitsu and would beat Khan up if he didn’t do it right.

Within minutes, a young girl ran into the room screaming that Khan had killed her pony.  She and the homeowner led him to a room where there appeared to be a pony on LIFE SUPPORT. 

Supposedly, he had cut the power to the machine and the pony died. 

Khan then looked outside and saw that his car was being towed. When he took out his phone to call the cops, one of the towing guys held up a bag of white powder.  He said that if Khan called the police, he would be arrested for possession of cocaine.

By this point, Khan was in a panic.  His lawsuit says, quote, “In the span of just minutes, he had been threatened with being beaten up, told he botched the repair job, accused of murdering a pony . . .

“Had his car taken without his permission, and was now being told that he would be arrested for possession of illicit narcotics.”

That’s when Johnny came out and revealed that the whole thing was a prank.  He offered Khan “a few hundred dollars,” but that wasn’t gonna do it.

Khan says he was traumatized by the ordeal and has suffered a lack of sleep, anxiety, and emotional distress.  And he’s worried that if the footage ever goes public, he’ll be subjected to harassment and ridicule.

There’s no word how much he’s suing for.

It’s called “The Price of Glee”, and the trailer says, quote, “In May 2009, 10 young actors made their TV debut on ‘Glee’.  By 2020, all of them would be famous, and three of them would be dead.”

Three people associated with the show HAVE died.  Cory Monteith died from a lethal combination of heroin and alcohol in 2013, while the show was still on the air.

In 2018, Mark Salling took his own life because he was about to be sentenced for possession of child pornography. Extremely sad circumstance.

And in 2020, Naya Rivera DROWNED while swimming with her son in Lake Piru in California. 

The Price of Glee premieres all three episodes on Monday, January 16 at 9 p.m. ET on ID

Rogan said that other actors are secretly juicing, too.  Quote, “There was a guy who got really jacked for a superhero role, and he did a friend of mine’s podcast.

“And he said to him before the podcast, I’ll talk about anything but do not ask me about drugs . . . It was the number one thing he did not want to talk about.”

And while he didn’t directly accuse them, he noted that Chris Hemsworth and Hugh Jackman got “super-jacked” for their superhero roles.

I’m not really sure what makes Joe Rogan think he can just call out a 6 foot 5 inch, 262 pounds former WWE Superstar. Maybe Joe was becoming one with the universe with Aaron Rodgers before he went on air. Whatever the reason was, I’m not sure how smart of a move it was. Good luck Joe. You’re gonna need it.

They said the cancer was “only recently discovered,” and Kirstie, quote, “fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead.”

Kirstie is best known for playing Rebecca Howe on NBC’s “Cheers” from 1987 to 1993.  A second NBC sitcom, “Veronica’s Closet”, aired for three seasons, from 1997 to 2000.

She made her film debut in “Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan” in 1982.  Her other films included “Summer School”, “Village of the Damned”, and the “Look Who’s Talking” flicks . . . where she co-starred with John Travolta.

John posted a tribute to Kirstie, saying, quote, “Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had.  I love you Kirstie.  I know we will see each other again.”

David Harbour from “Stranger Things” is Santa in an action comedy that’s sort of like “Die Hard” with a magical twist.  A group of mercenaries breaks into a family’s private estate on Christmas Eve to rip off $300 million from their vault and it’s up to Santa to save the hostages.

John Leguizamo, Edi Patterson from HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones”, and Beverly D’Angleo from the “National Lampoon’s Vacation” movies are also in it.

2.  “Savage Salvation“  (R)

Jack Huston is a recovering addict who loses his fiancée to a heroin overdose.  He sets out for revenge against the cartel responsible for supplying the drugs.  John Malkovich plays his fiancée’s brother-in-law, Quavo is the local drug lord and Robert De Niro is the sheriff who tries to stop his vigilante justice.

3.  “Emancipation“  (R)

Will Smith plays a runaway slave who escapes from the abuses of a Louisiana plantation and joins the Union Army.  It also stars Ben Foster from “3:10 to Yuma” and Steven Ogg from “The Walking Dead”.

The movie’s based on the true story of a man nicknamed “Whipped Peter”.  In 1863, photographs of his back and the wounds from being whipped became famous for helping to expose the brutalities of slavery.

It’s Will’s first movie released since his Oscars slap.  It hits AppleTV+ on the 9th.

Cara passed away in her Florida home Friday, according to her rep. The reasons for her death have not yet been released. Her rep released a statement saying, “It is with profound sadness that on behalf of her family I announce the passing of Irene Cara. Irene’s family has requested privacy as they process their grief. She was a beautifully gifted soul whose legacy will live forever through her music and films.”

Irene Cara sang and co-wrote the song, “Flashdance…What A Feeling” from the movie Flashdance. She won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Grammy Award For Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Cara will always be remembered for her role as Coco Hernandez in the 1980 film, Fame.

Irene was born in New York City, the youngest of five children. Her father was a factory worker and retired saxophonist Puerto Rican and her mother a movie theater usher was Cuban-American. She was the first Hispanic-black woman to win an Oscar in a category other than an acting category, as well as the second to be nominated outside an acting category.

Several celebrities have voiced their deepest condolences about the passing of Cara like Eric Alper, Holly Robinson Peete, and her dear friend Debbie Allen.
